How to change your Minecraft username

Changing your username in Minecraft is an incredibly simple process! We'll walk through the process in just a few short steps:

Picking a username

All Minecraft usernames need to abide by the following rules set by Mojang:

• Your name must be between 3-16 characters
• You cannot use spaces or any special characters within your username (with the exemption of_ however!)
• You can only change your username once every 30 days

Changing your username

Now that you have picked a new username, proceed with the following steps:

1. Login to the Minecraft website with your account and navigate to your profile page
2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and find Profile Information
3. Next to your current username, click Change
4. Enter your new username, and press the Change Profile Name

After your name has been changed, please note that you may need to completely close out of your game, and launch it again in order to see the update.
