Creating a MySQL Database on your cPanel


For some websites you may need a MySQL database. This guide explains how to setup a MySQL database for web hosting.

  1. Firstly you will need to log into your cPanel.


  1. Once you are logged into your cPanel proceed to the "Databases" section and then click the "MySQL Databases" tab.

  1. Then proceed to create your database by filling in the database name and then clicking "Create Database".

  1. Then add a MySQL User by inputting the user's name and password.

  1. Add the MySQL user to the MySQL Database.

  1. You have successfully setup a MySQL Database and MySQL User with privileges to use the database. You can now open the database by using phpMyAdmin in cPanel.
